Here are two little bits of film of today's parkrun, taken in the second kilometre as you left the meadow. It's the same bit of film, but presented differently . .

September 2012 may have dawned rather gloomily but that didn't prevent 109 runners from turning up to enjoy the 69th Abingdon parkrun . .

together with this fine band of Volunteers who came along to help . .

I dashed around the course ahead of the runners to take some photos . .

Here they are, about to catch me up the first time . .

. . and once they'd gone past the first time, I started to chase them . . but it didn't take long before Nick caught me up again . . and then I found Noel, who missed the group photo, making sure everyone went the right way . .

By the time I made it to the finish almost half the runners had got there before me . .

and once the rest of them had completed their 5k run it was time to go home . .

. . although those of us who weren't in a hurry strolled across Maud Hales Bridge over the River Thames into town, where Java & Co were waiting to serve us with coffee and all sorts of lovely pastry type things . .

On the way back to the car park it was great to see this reminder of the Olympic Torch Relay, still attached to a signpost . .

On my way around the course there was, as there always is, lots of things to take photos of . . and here are a few of them . .

. . and the photo opportunities keep on coming all the way to the coffee shop . .

. . although now I need to discover who Scott was . . and why was this is his place?

Nice view from Java & Co of one of the town's flower beds . .

. . and all these things were in the car park . . so I didn't need to walk very far to get some lovely photos . .

Please use the buttons below and to the left (up at the top of the page, I mean) to find more photos of all the runners, the Volunteers, and everything else that make Abingdon parkrun a great way to start the weekend . .
