Well it turned out to be a gloomy day meteorologically but that didn't stop around 500 runners from enjoying this year's Ferriby 10 . . starting for most of us at Cottingham High School . .

 . . with a walk or a short warm up to the start . .

 . . to see the start, which on a sunny day might almost be in the shadow of Skidby Windmill . . and once the runners were off down Main Street there were a few minutes to kill . .

 . . so I strolled down the hill to the corner before the final hill, and waited to take my photographs . .

 . . spare a thought for this lady who was clearly in agony, walking by . . she said she'd be running well until the 7th mile and suddenly could run no more, but she bravely carried on. Hope she got one of these excellent race t-shirts - she certainly deserved one . .
